The Reality Labs team at Meta is looking for Senior/Lead Software Engineers to support our engineering teams as we build towards our goal of helping more people around the world come together and connect through world-class Augmented, Mixed and Virtual Reality hardware and software. From Visual Localization, SLAM, 3D reconstruction, Context/Semantic Understanding, Mapping, Tracking, and Sensor Fusion, our team is focused on taking new technologies from early concept to the product level while iterating, prototyping, and realizing the human value and new experiences they open up.

Required Skills:

Software engineer (Leadership) - Mixed Reality Software Responsibilities:

1. Effectively communicate complex features and systems in detail

2. Drive the team's goals and technical direction to pursue opportunities that make your larger organization more efficient

3. Understand industry & company-wide trends to help assess & develop new technologies

4. Partner & collaborate with organization leaders to help improve the level of performance of the team & organization

5. Identify new opportunities for the larger organization & influence the appropriate people for staffing/prioritizing these new ideas

6. Lead long term technical vision and roadmap for large cross-company efforts

7. Suggest, collect and synthesize requirements and create an effective feature roadmap

8. Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, relevant technical field, or equivalent practical experience.

9. Experience leading projects with industry-wide impact

10. Experience communicating and working across functions to drive solutions

11. Significant experience in mentoring/influencing senior engineers across organizations

12. Proven track record of planning multi-year roadmap in which shorter-term projects ladder to the long term vision

13. Experience in driving large cross-functional/industry-wide engineering efforts

14. Experience in designing and developing real-world software solutions in C++ that span device and cloud.

15. 12+ years coding experience in C, C++, Java and/or C#

16. Experience driving the technical architecture and software development that helps bring gaming, robotics, or computer vision applications faster to market.

17. Experience driving the technical architecture behind innovative CV/ML/AI products that span on device (low latency) and cloud (extended capability)
