Job Description:

The Senior Project Manager is responsible for leading cross-functional projects in the areas of new product development. The Senior Project Manager is leading project teams in a global matrix organization. He/she is responsible to apply best practice project management methodology; is committed to deliver on measurable projects targets in line with our business strategy; ensure cross-functional team engagement. He/She will coordinate technical/commercial/operations/regulatory streams and He/She can ad-hoc cover development activities in small-size project.

  • Plan and execute projects following applicable business processes, project management methodologies and best practices, ensuring compliance of project management and project deliverables with all relevant guidelines and regulations.

  • Be the overall responsible for the timely completion of project targets and of tracking project KPI

  • Ensure that all required documentation is in place in due time and quality (e.g. TG, KGM, Design Transfer)

  • Ensure successful collaboration within cross-functional team, such as Product Management, Product Development, Software Development, Commercial stream, Operations, Regulatory, Quality. Coordinate technical activities, including technical stream, testing, prototyping

  • Develop and pro-actively manage all aspects of project management such as external vendors, external and internal stakeholders, project communications, resources, budget, issues and risks with a high degree of autonomy. Be a central point of contact for innovation & technical topics, as well as clinical topics and regulatory requirements.

  • Drive decision making for early concepts and pipeline definition. Liaise with stakeholders across various functions to align on project requirements, scope, resources and cross-functional project dependencies

  • Depending on project size (small/lower complexity), has the experience to ad-hoc coordinate projects and manage Design Control Process, including designing and developing products according to company’s Design Control and Idea to Market processes.

  • Provide leadership for project team by coaching and motivating team members to meet project goals, adhering to their responsibilities and project milestones

  • Develop and deliver progress reports, proposals and presentations to various audiences including sponsors, executive management and other key stakeholders

  • Be a champion of continuous improvements, adopt and champion project-relevant tools from Envista Business System toolbox

Job Requirements:

Critical Knowledge and Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in business administration, science, engineering or similar, preferably with strong technical background in relevant field (biomedical or mechanical engineering).

  • Medical device industry standards and regulations such as ISO 13485, MDR (EU) 2017/745, and 21 CFR 800-1299

  • Fluent in English language, additional languages are an asset

  • Preferably project management methodology certification such as PMI or similar

  • Proficient in all common IT systems and tools, incl. MS Office suite, SAP or comparable

Critical Skills/technical know-how:

  • Strong communication and presentation skills, ability to deliver information in a clear, concise way

  • Structured working style and ability to prioritize, self-driven who actively works to remove barriers to achieving results

  • Exceptional influencing skills, ability to create followership, orchestrate and motivate teams from planning through the delivery of solutions, managing complex issues, empower and guide team members

  • High level of commercial awareness

  • Expert knowledge in processes (DCP and ItM) and relevant SOPs, with the ability to write complex technical documents (e.g. reports, rationales, procedures, work instructions, or deviations)

  • Good understanding of user needs, clinical and laboratory workflows, as well as manufacturing methods

Critical Experience:

  • Experience in medical device industry or other regulated industries, preferably dental

  • Minimum of 6 years experience in project management, thereof 3 years in leading complex cross-functional projects

  • Leadership of projects in different business functions and of various project type (e.g. product- or service introductions, transition projects)

  • Experience in working in a fast-paced environment and a highly ambiguous matrix organization
