ID212382 Job TypeFull-time Tesla participates in the E-Verify Program What to Expect The Vehicle Attributes Team is responsible for leading all aspects of the driving experience related to Vehicle Dynamics and NVH on all current and future Tesla vehicle products. The team is responsible for working cross-functionally across the organization to define and deliver the Tesla DNA and customer delight. The team is responsible for defining the tire test procedures and specifications. Responsibility of the Tire Technician is to support the team with the preparation and execution of all tire testing. What You'll Do Mount and balance wheels/tires to prepare and support tire testing Monitor tire performance and wear to support Tire Engineering and safe testing procedures Support fleet vehicle preparation, component upgrades, equipment inventory, and maintenance Perform and streamlined component swaps (wheels/tires as well as springs, stabilizer bars, dampers, bushings, etc.) Lead vehicle firmware deployment and troubleshooting Collaborate with development team to select tire fitments that deliver world-class ride, steering, handling, and braking attributes Capability to install data acquisition equipment that may include sensors (i.e. accelerometers, gyros, thermocouples, pressure transducers, torque sensors, displacement sensors, CAN bus traffic, GPS, etc.) Ability to operate and maintain a wide variety of hand and power tools, shop tools, and shop equipment for the servicing of automobiles including vehicle wheel alignment Ability to efficiently lift wheels/tires for vehicle mounting and storage Create and follow daily work plans to achieve test plan goals on schedule, and the ability to adjust to change frequently to successfully accomplish job duties What You'll Bring Automotive technician degree or equivalent work experience Proven track record of innovation and problem solving Experience with high-performance or luxury vehicles High attention to detail Ability to travel (up to 50%) to test centers, proving grounds, winter tests, press events, and racetracks Experience with computer MS office tools (Outlook/Excel/Word/PowerPoint/Project) Experience with Collaboration tools such as cloud based software and Atlassian or Dealer Management Systems OEM or Motorsport Background Electric vehicle maintenance or development experience Working knowledge of CAN, electronics, and data logging Compensation and BenefitsBenefits Along with competitive pay, as a full-time Tesla employee, you are eligible for the following benefits at day 1 of hire: Aetna PPO and HSA plans > 2 medical plan options with $0 payroll deduction Family-building, fertility, adoption and surrogacy benefits Dental (including orthodontic coverage) and vision plans, both have options with a $0 paycheck contribution Company Paid (Health Savings Account) HSA Contribution when enrolled in the High Deductible Aetna medical plan with HSA Healthcare and Dependent Care Flexible Spending Accounts (FSA) LGBTQ+ care concierge services 401(k) with employer match, Employee Stock Purchase Plans, and other financial benefits Company paid Basic Life, AD&D, short-term and long-term disability insurance Employee Assistance Program Sick and Vacation time (Flex time for salary positions), and Paid Holidays Back-up childcare and parenting support resources Voluntary benefits to include: critical illness, hospital indemnity, accident insurance, theft & legal services, and pet insurance Weight Loss and Tobacco Cessation Programs Tesla Babies program Commuter benefits Employee discounts and perks program Tesla is also committed to working with and providing reasonabl
