Title: Graduate Assistant Employee Classification: GS - Graduate Student - Stipend Division: Academic and Student Affairs Subdivision: Spec Ed and Comm Sci and Disorders Department: College of Education Campus Location: Main Campus General Summary The Special Education & Communications Sciences and Disorders Graduate Assistant will provide support to the department, often working closely with one or more faculty members, assist with scholarly activities or research as well as other duties necessary to the successful operation of the Department. The Graduate Assistant receives a stipend and a tuition waiver. Principal Duties and Responsibilities • Assist department faculty and staff with research-related projects or assignments that require the advanced discipline skill of graduate students • Other departmental related duties (e.g., tutoring) as required Minimum Qualifications: • Admission into a graduate program in either Communication Sciences & Disorders or Special Education • Ability to work up to 20 hours per week (10 hours per week for a 50% appointment) • Undergraduate or graduate GPA of 3.0 required • Enrollment in at least 6 credits for Fall and Winter semesters is required • Excellent oral and written English language communication skills • Proficiency in using Microsoft Office software • Ability to work in a busy office environment • Ability to prioritize and perform multiple tasks Preferred Qualifications: • Prefer 2 years of eligibility as a graduate assistant Special Instructions: With Application, include • Current resume • Cover letter (preferably 1 page) highlighting qualifications and experience relevant to a Graduate Assistant position • 2 letters of recommendation
