Title: Assistant Professor (Clinic Director) Employee Classification: FA - Faculty 16 and 24 Pay Pay Grade: FA 01 Division: Academic and Student Affairs Subdivision: Psychology Department: College of Arts and Sciences Campus Location: Main Campus General Summary The Department of Psychology at Eastern Michigan University announces an opening for a tenure-track faculty position to serve as Clinic Director in our on-site Community Behavioral Health Clinic (CBHC). This is a full-time, Assistant Professor (with the potential to be considered for Associate Professor rank if the qualifications are met), tenure-track position to begin Fall 2025. An earlier start date is negotiable. Principal Duties and Responsibilities The successful candidate will be expected to manage the day-to-day operations of the training clinic associated with our PhD program in clinical psychology. This includes: training and clinical supervision of doctoral student trainees; supervision of clinic staff; oversight of clinic scheduling, billing, and budgeting; preparation of reports on clinic operations for APA accreditation; management of clinic technology needs; development with the Doctoral Training Committee wide-ranging clinical services to meet curricular goals and needs; coordinating supervision provided by others and serving as the backup supervisor; establishing and maintaining relationships with referral sources and external practicum placements; evaluation of clinical outcomes and program evaluation of clinic operations; leading quality improvement initiatives; updating clinic policies and procedures; and obtaining service or training grants relevant to delivery of clinic services. Clinic services are delivered mainly in person and also via telehealth.

Clinic director candidates must be committed to supporting evidence-based approaches to assessment, therapy, teaching, and supervision. The successful candidate must be highly organized, dependable, team-oriented, have excellent communication skills, and be able to work at a high level of relevant productivity with minimal supervision. The clinic director will serve as a core member of our doctoral program faculty, working on an 12-month contract that includes all benefits afforded tenured/tenure-track faculty members. Clinical psychology faculty are expected to mentor students, maintain a program of research (the scholarly activity requirements are transparent and achievable in this position), and engage in service on departmental, college, and university-level committees. The successful candidate also will be expected to teach clinical psychology courses (which may be clinical supervision) and supervise graduate student milestone projects (e.g., thesis and dissertation research, qualifying exams) for students under their mentorship.

Perform related Departmental duties as required. Minimum Qualifications: Candidates must have their PhD in clinical psychology, must have completed an APA-approved doctoral program and predoctoral clinical internship, and must be fully licensed as a clinical psychologist in the state of Michigan within 3 months of hire.

Competitive applicants will have a vision for furthering the mission of the clinic and the training role it provides in graduate clinical psychology programming. Previous experience managing a clinic is desirable but not required.
