Title: Assistant Professor (Aviation - Management Technology) Employee Classification: FA - Faculty 16 and 24 Pay Pay Grade: FA 01 Division: Academic and Student Affairs Subdivision: School of Tech Prof Services Mngmt Department: College of Eng & Technology Campus Location: Main Campus General Summary The School of Technology Studies & Professional Services Management (STPSM) invites applications for Assistant Professor Tenure Track/Program in Aviation Management, which includes Aviation Management Technology & Aviation Flight Technology. Principal Duties and Responsibilities • Work with the school director in planning, marketing and recruiting activities. • Confer periodically with the Department Head/School Director on curriculum and instruction issues. • Assist in coordinating assigned co-op student activities. • Student advising. • Teach contractual load of courses as assigned by the department or school. • Engage in research and dissemination of pursuits that enable them to remain current in their respective disciplines. • Provide other support service to the department, college and/or university, if applicable. • Perform related departmental duties as required.

This position is covered under the collective bargaining agreement between EMU and American Association of University Professors (AAUP), which contains and settles all matters with respect to wages, benefits, hours and other terms and conditions of employment. Minimum Qualifications: • Doctoral degree in Aviation or related field. • Have taught aviation-related courses or held a teaching or graduate assistantship, on either a full-time or part-time basis, at a two/four-year institution of higher learning for a minimum of two (2) years. • Have curriculum skills to design/redesign course content as new technologies emerge, prepare Syllabi, exams, activities, etc. • Have industry connections or be willing to make them in order to facilitate student internships or co-op experiences. • Have technical usage experience and teaching knowledge for using online course shells. • Have good written and oral/interpersonal communication skills. • Have experience connecting with and mentoring students Special Instructions: Application materials must include a letter of application, curriculum vitae including a list of publications (if any), a statement of your teaching philosophy (up to two pages), as well as the names, addresses, phone numbers and email addresses of three references familiar with your qualifications.
