Summary: Substation Supervisor will be responsible for all WEMC substation and transmission facilities. The supervisor will work with the Manager of Engineering and Manager of Operations on the design and construction of new installations as well as the maintenance of the downline apparatus.
Principal Duties:
- Manages substation and transmission projects as assigned, including drawing review, materials procurement, and project management
- Utilize contractors on construction projects, establishes the scope, review work, and process invoices.
- Coordinates with operations using crews for substation maintenance projects
- Manages the monthly inspections of substation sites.
- Develops and implements maintenance program for all substation equipment including reclosers, regulators, batteries..etc.
- Develops and implements maintenance program for all downline equipment including reclosers and regulators
- Manages and coordinates outside vendors on yearly testing of batteries and oil samples of substation equipment
- Coordinates testing of reclosers using OMICRON test equipment
- Manages and coordinates testing of relays with an outside vendor in accordance w/ NCEMC requirements
- Directs Inspection and Maintenance Technician daily work and provides guidance and instruction to further knowledge base.
- Reviews and analyzes results of all testing and develops plans/procedures to remedy issues
- Maintains the inventory of parts and supplies used in substation operations and maintenance.
- Provide technical support to other departments in substation and transmission work.
- Adheres to WEMC safety policies and procedures
