Position Title: Quality Manager

Primary Role: Manage QA performance to budget, staffing, and K ey Performance Indicators . Work with peer Business Unit Quality Mangers to drive continuous improvement within the inspection standards, instruction, methods, and tooling. Support plant management in the pursuit of plant quality objectives. Perform the role of Quality Control staff supervision in the case that a supervisor is not present .
Duties and Responsibilities:
Produce and submit daily, weekly and/or monthly Quality reports to established guidelines
Conduct monthly Quality meeting s with all shifts, championing corporate Quality initiatives and messaging
Ensure daily audits and shift audits are conducted as prescribed
Liaison with all departments to resolve customer complaints / returns and to address internal repairs
Work with all departments in the formulation and periodic reviews of written procedures
Continuously review the Quality Inspection process and submit suggestions for improvement to the Director of Quality and Plant Manager for review and incorporation
Ensure the following are conducted in an accurate and timely manner: 1) incoming audits/inspections, 2) RMA’s processed in 24 hours or less, 3) defective material returns, 4) material evaluations (MERF)
Work in conjunction with the Plant Manager regarding Quality inspector manpower planning
Identify issues , initiate corrective actions, and follow up to completion
Plan, control, supervise and ensure proper training and staffing of Quality Team on all shifts
Maintain a good working knowledge of all departments and processes and be involved with the plant’s Continuous Improvement teams
Facilitate/support structured problem-solving activities, ensuring root-cause identification is databased and corrective actions are validated and controlled
Engage with customers on quality issues and relationship management
Escalate adverse quality trends to plant and corporate leadership
Facilitate/support the development of the annual BU defect reduction project roadmap and participate on project teams as appropriate
Team with the Plant Manager & site engineering to ensure all site KPIs are managed and attained
Lead the translation of design & process requirements through to process and quality controls/inspections
Qualifications:
Associate degree required, Bachelor’s degree preferred or the equivalent work experience
5 years of experience in Quality Managemen t roles
Lean Six Sigma Black Belt Certification preferred
Demonstrated ability to use various measuring instruments
Excellent communication skills, verbal and written
Strong leadership skills
Strong computer skills, specifically using Microsoft Office suite , s preadsheets , and other d atabases .
Up to 10% overnight travel can be expected
