Oversees Tutoring Services, including managing daily operations, supervising staff, assessing program effectiveness, and utilizing data-driven strategies to enhance student success. Provides support to other academic programs including Academic Coaching, Strong Start, and Accessibility Services. Position Information Essential Functions and responsibilities: Supervises employees; evaluates staffing needs; assigns and reviews work; establishes timeframes for the completion of tasks; trains and orients new employees; approves and/or disapproves requests for leaves; interviews candidates for employment and recommends for hire; evaluates work performance; receives and responds to grievances; provides assistance with the development of unit work procedures and policies; recommends and provides staff development opportunities. Assists students with questions or concerns related to departmental services and appointment scheduling. Provides short-term support to any student who comes in or contacts the Center. Makes referrals as appropriate. Develops and conducts training for professional and student staff; provides on-going training and information to staff during regularly scheduled group and individual meetings. Assists with collecting and maintaining academic support program data on students served. Assesses program effectiveness and incorporates research and best practices to enhance departmental services. Prepares reports and makes recommendations to foster student success and retention. Maintains certification status for academic support programs with accrediting bodies. Prepares necessary documentation and implements changes. Works closely with staff to support their professional development by identifying relevant training opportunities and facilitating memberships in professional organizations. Coordinates participation in campus events and disseminates information to promote the department to faculty, staff, and students. Develops educational programming and promotional materials. Manages department website and social media accounts. Collaborates with university constituents to create content aligned with university standards. Consults and cooperates with various campus offices to identify student needs and coordinate services; collaborates with faculty and staff to identify, serve, monitor, and collect data for currently enrolled students. Conducts studies and prepares reports as assigned. Other Functions and Responsibilities: Assists with training new hires. Performs other duties as assigned and/or required that are within the level of responsibility for this classification at the discretion of the supervisor. Supervision Exercised: Supervision is exercised over staff and student employees. Equipment Operated: Computer and all other standard office equipment. Work Schedule: Typically, Monday through Friday.
