Laboratory Support Technician - Transfusion Services - PRN Days
Location: York Hospital, York, PA
Schedule: PRN/Per Diem
PRN, As needed
Primarily Dayshift with rotating Weekends
General Summary
Performs a variety of general support duties in the Blood Bank specimen processing and blood product dispense area.
Duties and Responsibilities
Answers telephones, routes callers, takes messages and provides routine information to callers.
Performs blood product dispense procedure with clinical staff for transfusion.
Receives specimens into the laboratory, process specimens, deliver specimens to testing locations, store specimens for future analysis and dispose of specimens.
Performs a variety of duties at progressively greater skill levels under varying degrees of supervision, records results.
May receive supplies, equipment, reports and specimens.
Enters or retrieves data from established computer files.
Provides complete and accurate instructions to customers of the laboratory.
May review physician orders and consents for supporting documentation.

Qualifications
Minimum Education:
- High School Diploma or GED Required
Work Experience:
- Less than 1 year Relevant experience.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Good keyboarding & communications skills.
