Responsibilities:

• Develop and deliver all safety training to newly hired employees in compliance with all relevant federal regulations with approval of DC LP Manger.
• Act as the primary Material Handling Equipment (MHE) trainer for the DC.
• Maintain all required OSHA records for employee MHE certifications.
• Supports Conducting daily area safety inspections of departments within the DC facility to ensure compliance with safety guidelines.
• Supports reporting safety discrepancies and follow up on resolutions/outcomes.
• Act as authorized personnel in Ollie's lockout/tagout program to support the Maintenance department.
• Supports Conducting root cause accident/incident investigation and analysis.
• Attend or lead monthly safety committee meetings for the DC and Corporate Month Safety meetings.
• Maintain the MSDS database for the DC.
• Work in guardhouse as needed to cover Security Guard absences.
• Additional responsibilities to be determined as business needs arise.

Qualifications:

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• The ability to exercise sound judgment.
• 1-2 years MHE experience to include high reach truck is required.
• Efficient planning, prioritization and implementation of detailed instructions.
• Demonstrated ability to exercise sound judgment and maintain confidentiality.
• Ability to work as a team with all levels of DC Associates.
• Must have the ability to efficiently and professionally present and communicate new information and processes to all DC Associates.
• Knowledge of computer systems (Microsoft Systems).
• Ability to work a flexible schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays.

Physical Requirements:

• Duties may frequently involve the use of ladders and stairs.
• Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to stand for extended periods.
• Ability to bend and twist frequently.
• Ability to grip, reach, and pinch with arms and hands frequently.
• Ability to squat, kneel, balance, and climb occasionally.
• Physical ability to stand for extended periods and to move and handle boxes of merchandise and fixtures.
