Position: After school program worker
Location:York Corps, 50 E King Street
Availability of Position: Immediately
Supervises:Volunteers, Students
Schedule:Part Time-Monday to Thursday 3 P.M to 8:00 P.M. Friday 3 P.M. to 6 P.M. (25 hours), school yearReporting Relationship:Learning Center Director
Salary and Grade: $13.00 per hour; 71 Non-Exempt

General purpose of job:The after-school community center program works in coordination with the Community Center Director to carry out the safety and enrichment of the centers that will help children develop socially, spiritually, intellectually, physically, and emotionally.
Responsibilities
Minimum requirements:
High School Diploma or equivalent
Proficient in elementary math, grammar, and reading.
One year of experience working with children in a learning environment
Organized
Essential Duties and responsibilities
Implement the daily program that has been set while following the schedule.
Supervise and ensure the safety and well-being of children at all times.
Be alert to the needs and/or problems of the children as individuals and a group.
Assist in the planning of age-appropriate programs to include activities and experiences that will contribute to each child’s growth and development.
Communicate with parents by distributing monthly calendars and flyers announcing up and coming events.
Maintain the organization of room, set up and clean up daily.
Report any needs of repair within classroom, bathroom, or gym.
Ability to keep confidential information.

As a Mandated Reporter, must provide proof of having completed training on recognizing and reporting child abuse meeting the training standards of PA Act 153 of 2014 within 30 days of employment with recurrent training required every five years thereafter. Meets the Child Protection Clearances required by PA Act 153 to include PA Child Abuse History Clearance, PA State Police Criminal Record Check and FBI Criminal Record Check.
Must have an understanding of and support for the Mission of the Salvation Army.
