Waiters and Waitresses at Stage Neck Inn, Inc. Start Date: April 1, 2025 End Date: December 27, 2025 Stage Neck Inn, Inc, located in York Harbor, Maine, seeks four (4) full-time, temporary Waiters and Waitresses who will be responsible for taking food and beverage orders, retrieving and serving alcoholic, non-alcoholic beverages and food orders to guests. He/she will collect payments and assist in the maintenance of the restaurant area and equipment. Duties include: Take orders from patrons for food or beverages. Check with customers to ensure that they are enjoying their meals, and take action to correct any problems. Check patrons\' identification to ensure that they meet minimum age requirements for consumption of alcoholic beverages. Collect payments from customers. Write patrons\' food orders on order slips, memorize orders, or enter orders into computers for transmittal to kitchen staff. Prepare checks that itemize and total meal costs and sales taxes. Present menus to patrons and answer questions about menu items, making recommendations upon request. Remove dishes and glasses from tables or counters, and take them to kitchen for cleaning. Serve food or beverages to patrons, and prepare or serve specialty dishes at tables as required. Clean tables or counters after patrons have finished dining. Prepare tables for meals, including setting up items such as linens, silverware, and glassware. Explain how various menu items are prepared, describing ingredients and cooking methods. Assist host or hostess by answering phones to take reservations or to-go orders, and by greeting, seating, and thanking guests. Escort customers to their tables. Perform cleaning duties, such as sweeping and mopping floors, vacuuming carpet, tidying up server station, taking out trash, or checking and cleaning bathroom. Inform customers of daily specials. Prepare hot, cold, and mixed drinks for patrons, and chill bottles of wine. Roll silverware, set up food stations, or set up dining areas to prepare for the next shift or for large parties. Stock service areas with supplies such as coffee, food, tableware, and linens. Bring wine selections to tables with appropriate glasses, and pour the wines for customers. Fill salt, pepper, sugar, cream, condiment, and napkin containers. Describe and recommend wines to customers. Perform food preparation duties, such as preparing salads, appetizers, and cold dishes, portioning desserts, and brewing coffee. Provide guests with information about local areas, including directions. Garnish and decorate dishes in preparation for serving. All other duties as assigned. Waiters and Waitresses must be able to lift and/or carry up to 50 pounds, walk up and down stairs, and must be able to lift, carry, walk, sit, push, pull and move continuously during working hours. Day, evening, weekday and weekend shifts are required. Overtime hours may be available and will be paid according to Department of Labor regulations. Experience: Stage Neck Inn requires candidate to be fluent in English. Stage Neck Inn requires no licenses/certificates/certifications or prior experience to be considered for employment. Waiters and Waitresses will report directly to the Food & Beverage Manager at Stage Neck Inn. Travel is not required. Daily transportation to and from worksite is not provided. On-the-job training is provided. Tipped position with guaranteed wage of \$19.38 per hour, paid bi-weekly. Wage increases may be available based on past experience or skill set. Overtime is available at a guaranteed wage of \$29.07 per overtime hour. Schedule: 35 hours per week. Work schedule can vary and can include day, evening, weekday and weekend hours. Work may be performed on any day of the week from Monday through Sunday. Work hours are from 9:00am to 4:00pm and may va y. A single workweek will be used to compute wages due. In accordance with Maine state law, temporary, seasonal workers are eligible to accrue earned paid leave. Unused earned paid leave will be disbursed in the employees final paycheck if employee fulfills work contract terms. Housing is available and optional. Cost of housing, if accepted, ranges from \$205 to \$350 per biweekly pay period. If used, total cost of housing will be deducted from paycheck. All deductions from paycheck required by law will be made. If the worker completes 50% of the work contract period, employer will pay directly for and/or reimburse workers for transportation and subsistence from the place of recruitment to the place of work. Upon completion of the work contract or where the worker is dismissed earlier, employer will provide or pay for worker\'s reasonable costs of return transportation and subsistence back home or to the place the worker originally departed to work, except where the worker will not return due to subsequent employment with another employer. The employer will pay directly for and/or reimburse workers for all reasonable inbound transportation and subsistence costs within the first workweek.
