STEM Learning Central Support Administrative Coordinator in York, United Kingdom

Central Support Administrative Coordinator We are looking for one full-time Administrator Coordinator to join a dynamic and diverse central administration team who provide integral support to STEM Learning. This is an office-based role at the National STEM Learning Centre in York. The Role

The main purpose of this role is to assist the Head of Central Support in providing effective administrative support for all programmes and projects of National STEM Learning, specifically STEM Ambassadors. The post holder will help ensure that all projects and programmes undertaken by STEM are supported by a highly skilled administrative support team, ensuring the expectations of all internal and external customers are met from inception to delivery. This helps enable STEM to deliver best value through the efficient provision of a professional, efficient and flexible Central Support function.

The Administrative Coordinator will lead the York Central Support Team with responsibility for the office administration providing a quality administrative support service for both the internal and external customers of National STEM Learning, specifically STEM Ambassadors.

Key tasks:

  • To support the Head of Central Support in delivering inspirational leadership to the Central Support (CS) team with direct reporting responsibility for a number of CS administrators

  • To support all National STEM Learning including STEM Ambassadors professional development activities through the provision of an efficient CS function enabling STEM to deliver programmes to the appropriate quality

  • To help the Head of Central Support to review procedures, processes and the resulting service levels to determine their appropriateness to the organisation's needs with consideration of efficiencies and best value for STEM funders

  • Alongside the Head of Central Support, encourage the development and training of the CS Team, particularly trainees and apprentices, to meet the needs of the business

  • To deputise (in the absence of the Head of Central Support) as a point of contact and signposting for all enquiries from both internal and external bodies involved with STEM Learning

  • To represent the CS function at appropriate meetings

We are looking for someone with:

  • A positive and enthusiastic manner

  • Prior administrative experience based in a business or educational environment

  • Experience of one or more of the following: Course, conference, or event administration and support or Project administration

  • Excellent IT skills and a willingness to embrace new technologies

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, with a proven ability to interact effectively with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders

  • Experience of managing people, supplier relations, contractors, contracts or resources will be an advantage

  • Ability to maintain attention to detail while working to deadlines and managing a varied workload

This role will include occasional travel to the London office to work closer with the London team. Our London office is situated in the heart of the City of London.
