Richmond Community Services Registered Nurse - FT/PT in Yonkers, New York

As a Registered Nurse, under the clinical supervision of the Director of Nursing, you would be responsible for delivering direct nursing care to the residents and participating in Interdisciplinary Treatment Teams (ITT) meetings.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Direct Patient Care and Assessment: Provide direct nursing care, including physical tasks like bending and lifting up to 20 pounds, while observing, evaluating, and diagnosing patient conditions.

  • Medication and Treatment Administration: Prepare, administer, and record medications and treatments according to standard nursing practices, accurately transcribe, and follow physician orders.

  • Supervision and Team Collaboration: Oversee care provided by licensed practical nurses and direct care staff, ensure safety and quality standards, and participate in care planning and interdisciplinary treatment team meetings.

  • Communication and Documentation: Communicate significant changes in patient status to the team manager and accurately document all relevant patient information, including nursing notes and monthly summaries.

  • Unit Management and Training: Ensure the unit is stocked with necessary supplies and equipment, remove patients from environmental hazards, and assist in training other nurses by demonstrating proper methods and procedures.

Requirements:

  • Graduate of an accredited Professional School of Nursing.

  • Current New York State Registered Nurse license.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • One to two years of experience working with a developmentally disabled population

Shift Availability:

  • Evening (3 PM - 11 PM) rotating weekends

  • Overnight (11 PM - 7 AM rotating weekends

Compensation: $50.00-$56.31, commensurate with experience.
