JOB DESCRIPTION
JOB TITLE: DIRECTOR, HOMELESS SERVICES
REPORTS TO: AVP OF WESTCHESTER HOUSING PROGRAMS
FLSA: EXEMPT
LOCATION: YONKERS, NY
DEPARTMENT: HOMELESS SERVICES
SALARY: $85,000 - $95,000
SUMMARY: Responsible for planning, implementing and directing the homeless services programs which consists of the Emergency Housing Apartment Program (EHAP) and the Westchester County shelter operations. Reports to the Sr. VP of Services.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Provides direct supervision to Social Workers, Service Coordinators and clinical supervision of caseworkers for the Scattered Sites
Oversee hiring, performance management evaluations and disciplinary actions
Responsible for the standardization of case files, forms and other written material needed for provision of services and ensure compliance with DSS and OTDA regulations
Monitor compliance with internal and external mandates and contracts.
Ensures that outside service providers deliver quality services in accordance with DSS regulations, inter-agency contracts and agreements.
Responsible for monthly casework meetings for all caseworkers in the division.
Oversee Intake Coordinator and ensure information relating to residents is tracked and distributed.
Identify unmet program needs, research funding and write grant proposals for services.
Meet regularly with agencies that provide collateral services to Westhab clients and coordinate formal and informal linkages that result in successful information and referral to meet resident needs.
Coordinate work of social services staff with Facilities and Security and assist in mediating disputes.
Other duties as required.
EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS:
Requires a Master’s Degree in Social Work, or the equivalent, and a minimum of five years’ relevant experience, including clinical supervision, administrative responsibility, and program planning and development. Experience with providing services to disadvantaged populations required. Requires own car, with valid NYS Driver’s License, and use of beeper 24/7.
