Job Description:

How the Software Development/DevSecOps Engineer will make an impact:

  • Ability to bridge the gap between mission users and system developers by providing authoritative understanding of the mission requirements through use experience designs, development of mockups, storyboards, navigation maps, wireframes and user interface/user experience (Ul/UX) guidelines.

  • Customization of COTS products, Cloud based SaaS development and software design and testing.

  • Support the efforts to deploy DevSecOps, Infrastructure as Code and automation efforts across the service area.

  • Monitor and test application performance for potential bottlenecks, identify possible solutions, and work with developers to implement those fixes.

  • Designs, develops troubleshoots and analyzes software programs for computer-based systems.

  • Performs systems modeling, simulation and analysis.

  • Develops more in-depth documentation, flowcharts, layouts, diagrams, charts, code comments and clear code.

  • Provide weekly status highlights, participate in Agile/Kanban ceremonies to include Change Review Boards and Retrospectives, and ad-hoc meetings, address action items, provide status and recommendations on issues under scope of work.

  • Develops, implements, communicates and enforces security policies or plans for data, software applications, hardware, telecommunications, and information systems.

  • Performs periodic and on-demand code audits and vulnerability assessments, to verify systems are being operated securely, and information systems security policies and procedures are being implemented as defined in security plans including user accounts, application access, file system and external Web applications.

  • Reviews code for security and compliance to coding standards.

  • Assists with implementation of countermeasures or mitigating controls.

  • Ensure compliance with regulations and privacy laws.

What you’ll need to succeed :

  • BS and 5+ years related experience in Application Development.

  • In-depth understanding and experience with the DOD/DON Architecture Framework and other key DOD/DON network architecture and strategic planning instructions.

  • Strong technical background in software development and testing; familiarity with Microsoft databases and SQL

  • A minimum of an active DoD Secret Clearance

  • IAT II certification/Security+ Application development and maintenance using the products and services below at or above current baseline or latest industry standards:

The likely salary range for this position is $101,566 - $103,500. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range. Total compensation for international positions varies by tax, social security, and immigration statuses, as well as location. Generally, an international assignment may include allowances, premium uplifts, and/or relocation or transportation benefits, above base salary range noted.
