Job Summary

• The Hospice Chaplin provides spiritual care, counseling and guidance to Hospice patients, their families, and the Hospice team.

• The chaplain assists persons to understand more fully life’s events as they relate to their spiritual and emotional well-being.

• Demonstrates the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care for the populations served by Avera@Home.

Education and/or Experience

• Master’s degree in Theology, Pastoral Care or related field preferred.

• One to two years related experience and/or training in hospice ministry preferred.

• Knowledge of and appreciation for the Christian witness inherent in the philosophy of the Ethical and Religious Directives for Catholic Health Services.

• Two units of Clinical Pastoral Education (CPE) preferred.

Licensure/Certification/Registration

• Certification by National Accreditation Body (ACPE, APC, NACC) preferred.

Work Schedule

• Weekday Shifts: 8:00am-5:00pm; PRN (as needed)

Pay

The hourly range for this position is listed below. Actual hourly rate dependent upon experience.

• $21.50 - $32.50 per hour
