Experienced Metal Finisher 1st Shift

We are looking for an Experienced Metal Finisher that can help us excel in quality, productivity, and value. If this sounds like you, please keep reading!

Job Duties

· Grind, sand, clean, or polish parts to correct defects or to prepare surfaces for further painting, or finished product using hand tools and power tools.

· Smooth metal surfaces or edges.

· Identify and mark defects such cracks and splits for repair for welding crew.

· Mark products, work pieces with identifying information.

· Operate grinding equipment.

· Select abrasives, according to materials, sizes and shapes of work pieces, amount of material to be removed, finishes specified, and steps in finishing processes.

· Verify quality of finished work pieces by inspecting them, comparing them to templates, and measuring their dimensions.

· Review blueprints or other instructions to determine operational methods or sequences.

· Record product and processing data on specified forms or job packets.

· Ability to perform well in fast paced environment with sense of urgency to meet scheduled daily goals.

· Move products between work areas using hand jack.

· Maintain a clean and safe work environment (No food, trash, scrap parts, etc.), wiping down, sweeping the floor, and organizing work center at end of shift.

Qualifications

· Must have good manual dexterity and the ability to communicate with coworkers

· Work overtime as needed and scheduled by Supervisor

· Ability to work in a team or independently

· Able to read directions and multitask

· Candidate must be able to work in other areas of the shop as needed

· Attention to detail

· Strong teamwork orientation; willing to train or assist other, less experienced operators

· Punctual and dependable, placing high priority on producing throughout scheduled hours and excellent attendance

Experience

· 2 years of metals experience, or one year certificate from college or technical school, or equivalent combination of education and experience.

· 1-3 years' experience in a manufacturing environment.

Education

· High school diploma or equivalent.

There is an opportunity to earn a sign-on perfect attendance bonus of $500 at 30 days, 60 days, 90 days, 120 days, and 150 days. Total potential sign-on bonus is $2,500.
