Mission

Evaluate cost of components based on existing designs, existing specifications and new 3D considered quantites and scheduling of the project to quote with main objective to reach and secure the best competitive price or target price

Manage localization constraints

Integrate and monitor risk of Raw Material and Inflation

Challenge the proposed design using Capitalisation Tools and alternative cost-effective solutions

Feed the capitalisation tools with offers coming from suppliers/vendors

Guarantee Commitment from Purchasing / Sourcing on value of Bill of Material (BOM) proposed to Tender team to process to Appraisal to Customers

Prepare the Tender Purchase Plan for validation by Management

Prepare Handover package to Project team in case Business is awarded to our company

Responsibilities

  • Evaluate Cost of Components / Contribute to purchasing competiveness:

    On the basis of Methods Bill of Material, define Unit prices for all items indicating the corresponding assumptions (quantities, index price of raw material)

    Send the RFQs for critical components

    Confirm for each price if it is estimation, carry-over quote, offer received from supplier with name of suppliers

    Highlight share of impacted Raw Material in the BOM with corresponding Index value

    Utilize should cost tool as standard to estimate costing

  • Manage Localization Constraints

    Integrate the localization constraints in the sourcing process with relevant choice of suppliers

    Confirm localization content in the BOM with corresponding percentage

  • Challenge the proposed design:

    Using the Capitalization Tool

    To push to use carry-over components

  • Guarantee Commitment from Purchasing:

    Identify Gaps between purchasing commitment vs tender requirements

    Integrate and monitor risk of Raw Material and Inflation

    Highlight potential schedule risks due to the supplier lead-time versus the project schedule request

    Feed Risks & Opportunities during the project phase - localization opportunities, failure to identify a local source

    Check application of Km as defined by the finance department

    Confirm Key assumptions like taxes, freight and exclusions

    Consolidate REX from previous project and take them into account in the tender costing phase

  • Prepare the Tender Purchase Plan (TPP) for validation by Management

    Feed the TPP file along the tender process (Summary, R&O, Technical Check, Sales Check).

    Validate the check steps

    Propose to Site Purchasing Manager for Validation

Requiments:

Master degree preferred, in Engineering and/or Purchasing Management or professional experience equivalent

Engineering background is a plus.

Minimum 5 years’ experience within World Class, globalized industrial environment and/or Demanding Discrete Industries (Automotive, Consumer Goods…),

Expertise on the commodity assigned

Working experience in cross-functional teams

Purchasing / Negotiation skills - advanced level

Excel and Powerpoint - advanced level

English Professional proficiency written and spoken

German can be a plus

Good Communication & interpersonal skills

Open minded

Pro-active attitude

Resistance to stressful environment
