About the role

As the direct report to the Global BD Excellence Senior Director, your role is to foster a culture of operational and customer excellence. This includes implementing change and driving Continuous Improvement (CI) throughout the network.

Develop a robust OPEX and continuous improvement identity by implementing LEAN production and CI principles, methods, and tools. This will optimize performance in quality, delivery, and cost, while also improving safety.

Main responsibilities will include:

• Support actively the development and deployment of BD Excellence, coordinate and /or lead specific breakthrough Kaizen events and /or initiatives to enable targeted performance improvement. Leverage Lean Academy to ensure consistent approach and development excellence.

• Conducts periodic review of critical metrics and actions for all plants. Facilitates and coaches plant associates to ensure performance goals are achieved. Conducts Zero Loss Workshops.

• As an experienced or certified TPM, WCM and/or Lean practitioner, empower, teach and mentor associates to develop and grow BD Excellence capability. Support site leadership teams in crafting strategic vision.

• Lead focused improvement efforts at key sites / to support critical initiatives or projects. Target multiple breakthrough events each year. Challenge existing paradigms, help accelerate impact of key initiatives.

• Support global component centers-of-excellence (COEs). Help develop and drive adoption of standard methodologies. Ensure deploying sites establish and maintain appropriate component metrics, maintain and promote visibility of global component impact. Support maturity assessment program across multiple business units.

• Develop and grow BD Excellence impact through deployment of progressively sophisticated aspects of component methodologies.

• Works with Business Units (Engineering/Manufacturing) and other departments to develop and maintain a multiyear portfolio of cost-saving projects in line with plant objectives.

• Develop and implement a strategic plan to continuously improve value streams for primary product manufacturing processes in the plant, focusing on efficiency and waste reduction.

• Serves as a champion to overcome barriers by addressing issues promptly. Does not hesitate to challenge the status quo in search of opportunities that help the business provide efficient solutions to the customer.

About you

You have manufacturing/leadership experience in a plant with knowledge in various areas of Operational Excellence / LEAN production. You are certified (or recognized) as a Production System practitioner. You have previous experience in implementing Lean and Six Sigma business systems, including a strong track record in project or program management.

Your deep understanding of business operations allows you to convert business objectives into specific actions for the plants. You have a track record of successfully influencing teams in complex matrices. Your proficiency in problem-solving and mentoring is highly valued.

Other attributes include:

• Six sigma black belt certification preferred

• Flexible and able to travel up to 25 to 40%

• Proficiency in English
