Air Force Materiel Command Commercial Sponsorship Coordinator in Wright-Patterson AFB, Ohio

Summary About the position: This position will be assigned to the USAF Marathon Facility, Wright Patterson AFB. Provides assistance in marketing and sponsorship management for the U.S. Air Force Marathon. Researches and coordinates sponsorship activities for AFM and all events. Click to learn more benefits. Responsibilities Provides assistance in marketing and sponsorship management for the U.S. Air Force Marathon (AFM). Researches and coordinates sponsorship activities for AFM and all events. Assists in planning marketing strategies and placement of in-kind goods and services to support AFM and its events. Writes sponsorship contracts and monitors timeline. Assists in the development of various marketing materials and edits as needed, such as runner brochures, applications, and other AFM related material. May produce camera-ready copy using desktop publishing software, coordinates logo placement, sponsorship recognition and sponsorship online surveys by using government approved software. Coordinates AFM in-kind sponsorship and marketing products. Edits and assists with website design and development. Assists in communication and promotional requirements including developing brochures, promotional campaigns and posters, and social media by utilizing artwork and text. May assists in writing press releases for various media outlets and may review and track publications for information dissemination and coverage. Reviews all outgoing sponsorship agreements to include grammar, format, and compliance with administrative policy. Initiates and prepares routine correspondence including letters, sponsorship and partnership agreements, memoranda, and messages using various software. Personally responds to routine telephone inquiries and routine mail. Maintains official files. Assists with the coordination of AFM publicity through newsletters, newspapers, brochures, posters, and other media sources. May draft articles for newspapers and newsletters. Assists marketing manager and staff members by performing various marketing, clerical, and administrative tasks. May be required to travel to other race expos to set up booths with AFM race materials to promote AFM events by handing out AFM materials, speaking to runners about AFM races and events, and soliciting vendors to participate in races. Prepares for AFM races and events by setting up cones, tents, start and finish lines and other race requirements. Observation of race practices by attending other races within the running industry and learning how they prepare, plan and execute races and upon return implement race practices and procedures at AFM races. May be required to stand for extended periods at expos handing out materials and speaking with runners and vendors about AFM races. Provides World Class Customer Service with an emphasis on courtesy. Assists customers and communicates positively in a friendly manner. Acknowledges customers. Asks questions to determine, verify and solve problems. Checks for satisfaction on the quality of goods and services. Takes action to solve problems quickly. Alerts the higher-level supervisor or proper point of contact for help when problems arise. Qualifying Experience: Must have experience that shows progressively responsible administrative, professional, technical or other work, which has provided a general knowledge of marketing/commercial sponsorship principles and practices. Specialized experience gained in a commercial marketing or advertising agency is desirable. Specialized experience should demonstrate the applicant's ability to plan and implement new and unique programs without benefit of established criteria; compose written material and conduct verbal/oral presentations; solicit and negotiate sponsorship agreements. Must be able to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing. Understanding of military procedures is desirable. Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint is required. Proficient in the Adobe Suite or like software is desirable. Attention to details with the ability to manage multiple projects with tight deadlines. Must possess the ability to work alone with minimal supervision while acting in the best interest of the USAF. Willingness to travel and work various weekends and long hours. Must be able to satisfactorily complete all required background checks. Education Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. This position does not allow for education substitution. FOREIGN EDUCATION: Education completed in foreign colleges or universities may be used to meet the requirements. You must show proof the education credentials have been deemed to be at least equivalent to that gained in conventional U.S. education program. It is your responsibility to provide such evidence when applying. Additional Information Individual must fully meet qualification/eligibility/background requirements for this position.
