Job Description

Biotherapeutics and Genetic Medicine at AbbVie is seeking a highly-motivated and creative research scientist to join a dynamic team supporting biologics drug discovery. In this role, you will impact projects by leveraging automation technologies to generate and characterize therapeutic proteins. You will develop and then apply the skills required to generate proteins and the corresponding data packages. Ultimately, you will serve as the point contact for production campaigns and interface directly with therapeutic area collaborators.

A typical production campaign will entail mammalian tissue culture, protein purification, standard chromatography techniques, protein characterization (e.g., MS, SEC), and binding assays (e.g., ELISA and flow cytometry). Our scientists are cross trained, and we strive to cultivate a learning environment to help hone the required techniques. Outside of the lab, you should be comfortable analyzing, documenting and reporting data. As part of the day-to-day, you’ll present results and ideas to teammates and collaborators.

Overall, we hope this can be an exciting opportunity for you to grow with our team while making an impact through biotherapeutic discovery. Please apply if you think you have the right skills and are curious to learn!
