Seaman Corporation is seeking a Strategic Business Development Manager to join our Commercial team! This is a remote position that will report to the Sr. Strategic Commercial Director. 

POSITION SUMMARY In this role, the Strategic Business Development Manager will identify programs and offices within federal and state agencies addressing specifiers, architects, contractors, consultants and regulators with the objective to influence specification of Seaman Corporation materials for end-use applications consumed by government entities. This position will report to the Sr. Strategic Commercial Director within our expanding client growth team. This person will need a strong background in managing strategic sales activity and a proven track record in attaining sales goals. This opportunity is challenging, dynamic, and highly rewarding. The individual filling this position will serve as both an independent performer and a vital contributor to our expanding business.

 

Candidates for this role must exhibit a strong background in navigating lengthy and complex sales cycles, from start to finish. This individual must be comfortable discovering, engaging, and presenting solutions to high-level decision makers. The ability to collaborate with resources within Seaman Corporation and across customer and partner ecosystems is crucial to this role This person should possess a grasp of engineering principles, have a general understanding of government procurement processes, regulations, and standards, and establish immediate credibility through preexisting connections, and demonstrate financial expertise, articulating unit economics during decision-making. Experience selling to federal and state agencies, particularly in roles involving specification of materials for government projects and working with architects, contractors, consultants and regulators is preferred.
