CVS Health Data Engineering Undergraduate Internship - Summer 2025 in Woonsocket, Rhode Island

Position Summary

This program is a 11-week full-time opportunity that provides real work experience with a team in your business area. You will be aligned to projects to lead or contribute to while also participating in networking, development, and career exploration activities. Our Corporate Interns can apply for future full-time roles during the program and have an increased likelihood to receive an offer for a post-graduation role.

The summer internship program is from May 28th – August 8th 2025.

CVS Health follows a 3 day in office (generally Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday) hybrid work model providing office-based colleagues the ability to flex between working in the office and working from home based on the work you need to accomplish. The other 2 days each week will be working remotely from home, office, or another location of your choice.

Our office locations are currently expected to be: New York City, NY, Wellesley (Boston), MA, Hartford, CT, Woonsocket, RI, and Irving (Dallas), TX. A housing stipend may be provided, based on eligibility, and interns will be given the opportunity to connect with each other prior to the start of the program to coordinate housing if desired.

The hourly rate is $49 per hour with 40 hours/ week, no work on July 4th (company holiday), and two days of paid leave. Please disregard the range listed below.

What you will do

This opportunity is designed to enhance your personal and professional growth and build the skills that lead to success. In addition to participating in professional development workshops, mentorship and networking opportunities, and meetings with senior leaders, some of the valuable work experience you may gain includes:

  • Working with analytics teams and business partners to understand their goals and objectives

  • Analyzing complex data structures from disparate sources to develop robust data pipelines to organize, collect and standardize data that helps generate insights and addresses analytical needs

  • Collaborating with data science and product teams to collect user stories, translate into technical specifications, and implement data transformation, algorithms, and models into automated processes

  • Developing and implementing technical efforts to design, build, and deploy Google Cloud Platform (GCP) applications at the direction of architects, including large-scale data processing, computationally intensive statistical modeling, and advanced analytics

  • Troubleshooting incidents, identifying root cause, fixing and documenting issues, and helping to implement preventive measures

  • Learning and applying Agile/SAFe Methodology and thinking strategically

Required Qualifications

  • Meet educational requirements (see Education section)

  • Experience with the following:

  • SQL

  • Python

Preferred Qualifications

  • Working in cloud platforms such as GCP, AWS or Azure

  • Google Cloud Platform (GCP) experience is highly preferred

  • ETL and building high-volume data pipelines

  • Spark/PySpark experience preferred

  • Ability to leverage multiple tools and programming languages to analyze and manipulate data sets from disparate data sources

  • Experience designing and optimizing queries and building data transformation/processing solutions

  • Strong collaboration and communication skills within and across teams

  • Strong problem-solving skills and critical thinking ability

Education

  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree program with an expected graduation date between December 2025 and August 2026

  • Preferred majors include Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology/Management, Information Systems

Pay Range

The typical pay range for this role is:

$48.00 - $48.00
