WestRock Company Affixing Lead in Woodridge, Illinois
GENERAL PURPOSE: Direct the work of all Affixing employees on the shift. Maintain proper levels of packing supplies. Pack, seal, shrink wrap and store pallets of finished goods.
The Opportunity:
Checks machine schedules, oversees and directs packers on each piece of equipment.
Brings corrugated from the warehouse into the production area.
Cuts layer boards and dividers as needed, operates cutter in proper and safe manner.
Unloads pallet truck and stores pallets in department for all production lines.
Ensures all customer requirements are adhered to, according to specific packing instructions.
Shrink wraps loads for shipment.
Oversees and performs line clearance procedures when needed.
Operates all motorized equipment in department: hand truck, fork lift and corrugated fork lift truck.
Provides training to other employees.
Stores incoming corrugated in warehouse racks.
Checks materials such as tape, labels, shrink wrap and will notify supervisor when materials need to be re-ordered.
Performs other job duties as assigned.
Preferred:
Must have a minimum of 6 months\u2019 experience working as a Production Worker.
Must be able to obtain forklift certification.
Must demonstrate ability to direct work of others.
Must be able to maintain good attendance.
Must be willing to work overtime as needed.
Must be able to perform all essential functions of this job with or without reasonable accommodation.
