The Role:

The Blending Technician is responsible for a variety of duties related to baking, processing and producing quality flavored salts. Each Production Associate ensures that the production lines are operating efficiently with minimal interruption throughout the day. The Technician will also be working with heat guns, cooling and blending equipment.

What You'll Do:

  • Load salt product into flavor processing equipment (Manually and Automated)

  • Inspect salt or sugar for color, smell, grain size and quality

  • Operate equipment including processing equipment that can get very hot. (Heat Guns)

  • Follow recipe and make changes as needed depending on the moister contained in the salt

  • Record weight and amount of finished salt, along with Lot Code for Traceability.

  • Create work orders, report component used, quantity made, and print out pallet tags

  • Manually sift product in sifting equipment as needed

  • Move the completed pallet to WIP staging area for sifting or Packaging

  • Ensure that your work area is clean and organized at all times (Audit Ready)

  • Assemble, clean and break down equipment at beginning, middle or end of shift

  • Keep an eye on RAW salt, scented oils and powders needed for production.

  • Inventory and report shortages of supplies used in blend rooms (Bath and Flavored products)

  • Fill out daily logs for production reporting.

  • Adhere to Good Manufacturing Processes, Food Safety Standards and related operational procedures

  • Other projects and duties as assigned

    What We're Looking For:

  • Reliable and detail oriented; pay close attention to the salt and sugar color, texture, smell and grain size

  • Hands-on and dependable individual with ability to work some overtime (schedule may vary depending on need)

  • 2-3 years production or manufacturing experience preferred (Food is a plus but not required)

  • Demonstrate the willingness and ability to help other teams as needed

  • Must be a self-starter and finisher as you will have to work alone most of the time

  • Must be able to complete tasks on time to maintain the needs of the production schedule

  • Maintain a positive attitude and adjust to change quickly

  • Must communicate well with others

  • Must wear GMP equipment when necessary

  • Forklift and Electric Pallet Jack Certified (We can train in-house)

    Work Environment/Physical Demands:

  • Must be able to stand for long periods of time, bend, stretch, lift 55 plus pounds repetitively for 8 hours a day

  • Walk up and down stairs regularly throughout the day

  • Ability to work with strong fragrances and spicy powders (Dust mask and Respirators are available)

  • Ability to work in a dusty or powdery area (Dust mask and Respirators are available)

  • When working in high places, a safety harness is required. (Training available in house.)

Additional Information:

Salary: $19-$23 per hour. This is a non-exempt position.
