Fairview Health Services Computed Tomography (CT) Technologist in Woodbury, Minnesota

Overview

F airview Health Services is hiring a CT Technologist to join our CT Scanner department at our M Health Fairview Woodwinds Hospital location in Woodbury, MN.

The CT Technologist functions independently based on the boundaries of professional practice in performing all major work responsibilities. The Technologist provides services to patients and physicians through the creation of high-quality diagnostic imaging, provides quality age-appropriate patient care according to established standards of practice, and works collaboratively with all members of the health care team. The technologist is responsible for performing the responsibilities in accordance with all policy, procedures, and regulatory agency requirements (ARRT).

Schedule : This position will work a 1.0FTE (80 hours every 2 weeks). The shift length will be 8 hours on the day/evening/nights. Current work schedule is Monday- Friday, 3pm-11:30pm and weekends as needed. This is subject to change depending on patient and exam volumes.

Responsibilities Job Description

Maintains and prioritizes work to achieve efficient patient outcomes

Performs excellent patient care and examinations

Identifies relevant data from images accurately

Uses appropriate communication skills to meet patient/family, and other customer needs.

Communicates pertinent data clearly to the appropriate health care professional

Participates in crafting a culture of patient safety and demonstrates knowledge of emergency preparedness

Verify patient identification and documentation and connect with and educate patient regarding pertinent information during all aspects of exam

Achieves quality diagnostic images through accurate patient positioning and use of technical factors according to protocol

Applies established professional guidelines and standards to complex, routine, and non-routine diagnostic testing procedures

Ensures patient data integrity

Adheres to radiologic safety guidelines and diagnostic testing protocols/procedures

Accurately documents in compliance with regulatory agency requirements, completes computer functions, edits, scheduling, and billing status changes

Follows infection control guidelines

Serves as a resource for other healthcare team members and acts as a resource for problem-solving resolution

Responds appropriately to emergent situations

Completed all require continuing education to uphold their imaging licensure

Participates as an active team member

Participates in department/facility process/quality improvement initiatives

Responsible for personal and professional development to ensure current knowledge required for position

Cleans and maintains room and supplies

Provides coordinated services with customers and care partners to ensure high quality care.

Contributes to a positive work environment.

Correctly operates equipment according to accepted standards and guidelines

Identifies and responds to equipment problems to ensure equipment is working accurately.

Maintains a high level of proficiency

Accepts new technology as it’s introduced into the facility

Participates in Quality Assurance testing as required by regulatory agencies and/or manufacturer recommendations

Qualifications

Required:

  • Current Registration with American Registry Radiologic Technology (ARRT)

  • Basic Life Support - from American Red Cross or American Heart Association and current before date of hire

Preferred:

  • 1 or years of experience in a related role

  • Additional certifications in Imaging

  • ARRT CT certification or successful completion within 18 months

Additional Requirements (must be acquired or completed within a period of time):

Understanding of current MN Dept of Health Regulations. Knowledge of quality control and safety standards. Previous ambulatory care experience preferred. Strong interpersonal skills. Due to differences in scope of care, practice or services across settings, the specific experience required for this position may vary.
