Job Title: Marketing Communications Specialist

Summary

The Marketing Communications Specialist (MCS) is an energetic, creative thinker and storyteller who will drive brand recognition across all platforms. The successful candidate will support marketing activities, branding, and communication efforts aligned with Zeiders' strategic communication goals. Utilizing digital tools, social media, and data analytics, the MCS will develop innovative campaigns and enhance existing efforts to ensure impactful and cohesive messaging. This position collaborates on the creation and implementation of engaging social media content and coordinates the administration and day-to-day operations of Zeiders' social media program and external communications, ensuring compliance with policies, standards, security posture, company guidelines, and best practices.

This position is based in Woodbridge, VA, at Zeiders’ corporate home office.

The MCS collaborates with Talent Acquisition, Business Development, and Senior Leadership to plan, publish, and maintain social media content, manage the company website, analyze platform activity data, and provide content recommendations to the President and CEO along with other Executive Team members. This role maintains metrics, explores new social media opportunities, and works with subject matter experts to support internal and external communication efforts.

The MCS may also lead special projects that align with Zeiders' marketing, branding, and strategic communication goals.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Marketing Communications

  • As the primary storyteller, translate and communicate Zeiders' mission and achievements into compelling narratives.

  • Expand and enhance communication outreach strategies to support company growth.

  • Provide content and creative support for business development and recruiting initiatives.

  • Craft and publish engaging, brand-aligned content across multiple platforms, including social media, corporate website, email campaigns, and internal communications.

  • Update company capability fact sheets, recruiting fact sheets, brochures, and collateral materials.

  • Digital Communications

  • Create and publish social content across all platforms, corporate website, and coordinated content for company intranet.

  • Generate engaging written content for non-social media marketing and communications activities (such as the website, e-newsletters,) consistent with company messaging strategies and goals.

  • Create branded content and update company website content and imagery using content management system.

  • Coordinate social media reviews, analysis, and response with the Chief Human Capital Officer. Communicate and interact with social media followers and maintain an engaged online presence.

  • Manage website analytics and user activity insights using tools like Google Analytics.

  • Assist with creative design and content for virtual booths to enhance engagement.

  • Provide multimedia production support for outreach goals (multimedia may include audio, video or online productions) including generating video content ideas and supporting video development and creation.

  • Analysis and Recommendations

  • Analyze and report on social media and website activity to inform strategy and improvements.

  • Research best practices and emerging trends in social media and other methods of external outreach and provide recommendations on social media branding content to convey brand message and improve brand awareness.

  • Propose new social media and outreach communication ideas, concepts, and projects for consideration.

  • Research and provide associated images and links to external resources to support content.

  • Track, analyze, and recommend awards to executive leadership that are consistent with brand message and improve brand awareness and support award package development.

  • Performs other duties as may be required.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Communications, Journalism, Public Relations, Marketing or a related field.

  • 3-5 years experience creating brand-consistent, meaningful web-focused content and posts on a range of social media platforms. Work samples will be requested.

  • Experience in communications strategies with an emphasis on web-based and social media channels.

  • Demonstrated professional knowledge of best practices in business for social media platforms such as Facebook, LinkedIn, YouTube, etc.

  • Knowledge of WordPress or other website content management system.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.

  • Confident and skilled in public speaking and media relations.

  • Be a creative thinker and problem solver.

  • Ability to multi-task, anticipate needs and work independently.

  • Prioritize and manage multiple projects and follow tasks from inception to completion.

  • Self-starter with excellent initiative.

  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment.

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.

  • Ability to work under tight deadlines.

Preferences

  • Knowledge of Google Analytics (GA4) a plus.

  • Knowledge of Hootsuite or other social media management platforms a plus.

  • Military lifestyle experiences a plus.

Physical Demands: Works in office areas. Sits, stands, bends, lifts, and moves intermittently during working hours. Uses personal computer, telephones, copiers, printers, and other office equipment. Pay Range: $65,000 - $72,000

PLEASE NOTE: The Zeiders pay range for this job level is a general guideline only and not a guarantee of compensation or salary.
