Insight Global Senior Systems Engineer in Woodbridge, Ontario

Job Description

Insight Global is seeking a Senior Systems Engineer to join a science -manufacturing client in Woodbridge, Ontario. This permanent role is central to design, development, and integration of complex hardware systems for every stage of PerkinElmer's Gas Chromatography - Mass Spectrometry (GC-MS) product lifecycle. The Senior Systems Engineer will work closely with electronics, mechanical, firmware, and software design engineers to create integrated mass spectrometer based systems. They will be responsible for running analyses, detection limits, write and validate requirements and fix system issues. Assembly and testing of prototype GC-MS systems and/or components.

Skills and Requirements

*5 years of experience in mass spectrometry system hardware, firmware, software, and/or applications development, with an emphasis on Gas Chromatography- Mass Spectrometry systems.

  • Master's degree in Analytical Chemistry, Physical Chemistry, Chemical Physics, or Experimental Physics.

  • Demonstrated skill troubleshooting scientific instrumentation, with an emphasis on mass spectrometry systems.

  • Demonstrated skill developing prototype mass spectrometry-based instruments and instrument systems, including performance specifications and test procedures.

  • Demonstrated skill preparing internal technical reports and presentations.

  • Collaboration with multi-disciplinary technical team of scientists, hardware engineers, and firmware/software engineers. *Ph.D. degree in Analytical Chemistry, Physical Chemistry, Chemical Physics, or Experimental Physics

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills

  • Experience in laboratory environment, handling hazardous chemicals and chemical waste adhering to local safety regulations. null
