Redwood Wofford Heights Opco LLC Med Tech (Medication Technician) in Wofford Heights, California

**Medication Technician -Duties include offering prescribed medication to patients, supervise and assist in the administration of medications to residents as ordered and in accordance with established nursing standards, policies, procedures, and practices of the company and Title 22., providing patient care, updating records, and filling in forms.

Requirements:**

  • Must be at least 18 years old
  • Required to have a Health Screening, TB Clearance, Criminal Record Clearance
  • Must have First Aid Certificate and CPR
  • Supervision received by Administrator.

Responsibilities:

  • Supervise and assist in the administration of medications to residents as ordered and in accordance with established nursing standards, policies, procedures, and practices of the company and Title 22.
  • Provide direct personal care, encourage residents to participate in activities, and work with caregiver staff in accordance with the company's mission, vision, and values.
  • Ensure the resident's refills are being processed with the pharmacy in a timely manner and contact the doctor's office if they notice a change in baseline.
  • Communicate information with the doctor to see if a change in medication is needed (or if an appointment needs to be scheduled)
  • Request additional refills.

Other qualities:

  • Certified medication aides work in clinical settings within a collaborative team environment where they interact with other medical staff members. (They do not travel outside the facility to perform their regular tasks. Certified medication aides usually report to the nursing supervisor on duty.)
  • Has worked as a certified nurse aide in a nursing home or assisted care living facility for at least three months continuous, uninterrupted, full-time work.
  • Has passed a medication aide certification examination approved by the Board.
  • Passed a criminal background check.
  • Must take the approved MAC examination.
  • Become eligible for certification by examination by applying to the board within thirty (30) days after completing a training program.
  • An applicant must then take the examination within ninety (90) days of being made eligible by the board.
