Lead the engineering focus of the New Products and Process Development, as directed by staff level management, and transforms the information into a comprehensive plan. The Engineering Manager is to use his/her ability and knowledge to guide development of the conceptual information into new products and improvements of existing products and processes. Product designs resulting from this department’s efforts must be profitably manufacturable and perform well in the market place. The Engineering Manager is given the responsibility to develop new material/products & processes and improve existing products, to meet specific requirements; has the authority to utilize the resources as his/her disposal in such a way as to achieve the specific requirements; shall recommend resource allocations and participate in the establishment of specific requirements.

  1. Direct the preparation of design concepts to meet product specifications. 2. Know and apply current Engineering practices in light of Manufacturing and Quality Control considerations. 3. Supports the activities of the Product Managers, Manufacturing Engineering personnel and the Quality Assurance Manager. 4. Make efficient use of and help develop relevant standards. 5. Make efficient use of and help develop relevant standards. 6. Supervise the development and maintenance of Gantt charts for projects. 7. Make and/or direct the calculations involving engineering sciences (static, dynamic) and other associated subjects. 8. Direct liaison between vendors and purchasing department when required. 9. Keep abreast of competitive product lines and market developments. 10. Perform the administrative functions of budgeting, spending control, salary/performance reviews, capital planning and participate in the tooling program requirements. Develop policies and procedures as required. 11. Direct the activities of engineering change control on production drawings. 12. Interface with key customers and make customer presentations – create and present presentations to various customers in support of developing/executing “technology roadmaps”, specific customer applications in support of Field Sales, etc. 13. Effectively communicate with peers, management and customers to define and sell product needs. 14. Represent Chomerics at high-level technical meetings and customers.

• Master’s Degree (MS) chemistry or material science. Ph.D. perferred. • Experience in materials technology with emphasis on synthesis and formulation of filled polymer systems. • Experience in processing filled polymer systems. • Possess high level understanding of chemisty and material science of filled polymer systems, demonstrated by a track record of successful product development. • Demonstrated capability in team leadership. • Project management skills. • Business acumen capability. • Highly motivated, team player and results oriented. • Must be a US Citizen. • Other duties as may be assigned.
