NGK Spark Plugs MI-Human Resources Business Partner in Wixom, Michigan

  • Act as a resource and trusted partner to employees by advising on processes, procedures, or providing the information needed on general employment topics

  • Work closely with management and team to build morale and increase productivity and retention

  • Execute HR strategies by educating the first-line management team and employees on new initiatives

  • Support change management by communicating the how and why behind the change with a positive interface

  • Advise, address, and resolve employee relations issues in consideration of culture, business, policies, and applicable laws.

  • Facilitate business unit training needs. Oversee compliance training

  • Work with management on organizational changes and provide feedback to HR leadership for review, approval, and execution

  • Participate and provide feedback on strategic HR meetings to help guide the direction of important HR initiatives

  • Collect, monitor, and analyze data related to various HR metrics, programs, and policies.

  • Support the talent acquisition team and recruiters with employer branding and candidate experience

  • Works with Total Rewards for decision and assistance in leave cases as necessary.

  • Provides day-to-day performance management guidance to leaders (e.g., coaching, counseling, career development, corrective actions).

  • Supports discharge and term activity as needed; Prepare documentation regarding terminations, and conduct exit interviews.

  • Maintain HR information, payroll and timekeeping programs, benefits and employment records.

  • Understand/comply with quality system and emergency management policy/procedures.

  • Adhere to all company policies and procedures including safety, IATF16949 and ISO14000 related policies.

  • Bachelor’s Degree Preferred

  • Minimum of 4 years of experience in a diverse Human Resources role

  • Minimum of 2 years solving complex employee relations issues

  • Working knowledge of federal and applicable state employment laws, and the ability to interpret and apply the laws appropriately.

  • Good understanding of basic business concepts

  • Basic accounting understanding

  • Excellent organizational skills and meticulous attention to detail.

  • Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Ability to handle confidential information

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills

  • Proven ability to adapt to changing needs in fast paced office

  • Ability to cope with conflict and stressful situations

  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software

  • Ability to travel up to 10 percent
