The Opportunity
Abbott’s Diabetes Care team have an exciting opportunity for a Manufacturing Analytics and Support intern (Manufacturing Analyst/Scientist) to join our Manufacturing Analytics and Support Team for an approximate 13-month internship at our Centre of Excellence Manufacturing Site in Witney, Oxfordshire.
Day to day activities are very varied, and this role will suit someone who has good time management skills and enjoys both teamwork and working individually. Typical activities include analysing and interpreting manufacturing data, supporting continuous improvement projects, investigating process variables and their impact to metric performance (process yields and efficiencies), and discussing findings with the team and key stakeholders. This is a great opportunity to work side by side with the manufacturing process and get a real insight into a medical device company. Due to the nature of the work carried out the assignment is based on site.
What are we looking for?
You will be studying a Science or engineering based degree, and be seeking a year in industry placement as part of your course.
The ideal candidate will be a proactive, well organised individual studying for a degree in a core scientific discipline, biomedical science, bio-medical engineering, computer science or similar, with an interest in diabetes, real-life data analysis and continuous improvement. This role would suit a person with good communication and presentation skills; and who enjoys working on a variety of different projects simultaneously both independently and as part of a team.
We’re looking for someone who is passionate around STEM, and keen to pursue their career in the Medical Devices sector. You should be excited about working in a fast-paced environment within a hard-working and welcoming team.
