A&B Process Systems, is a business unit of JBT Corporation, is an industry leader in the design, fabrication, automation and installation of stainless steel process systems used in multiple industries. As our Electrical Designer you will report to the Automation Manager and you will work with the Automation Engineers and the Panel Shop to develop conceptual and detailed control design packages to meet internal and external customer requirements. An essential requirement for the position is continuous improvement to improve the design process for increased productivity and accuracy. Some of the main metrics you will be evaluated on are: Increased drawing accuracy, improved productivity, on time release of drawings and customer satisfaction. On a given day, you may: Develop conceptual and detailed control design packages including schematics, panel layouts, cable and conduit routing diagrams, one line diagrams, I/O lists, bill of materials and material requisition forms, based on industry standards and regulations, and customer requirements. Identify customer needs and translate them into design specifications and control solutions. Perform component selection and design calculations. Integrate electronic equipment and components into electrical design packages. Implement NEC, IEEE, CE, UL and other related safety standards. Work with the project team to design a control system to allow the equipment to perform its intended functionality, safely and reliably. Improve the design program to improve productivity and drawing accuracy, including managing the AutoCAD Block Library and promoting the use of advanced AutoCAD features. Requirements for the role 2 year Associate Electrical Engineering related degree or associated industry experience. 3 to 5 years of experience designing electrical control systems in AutoCAD Electrical. Working knowledge of distributed control systems, PLC's, HMI, PC controls, motor controls and power supplies. Knowledge of several automation hardware and software products Knowledge in electrical installation in hazardous classified areas. Experience with instrumentation devices. Working knowledge of safety standards for control systems. Desire to stay informed about new technology. Travel & Location You will report onsite during your training period and the position could transition to a hybrid model afterwards. We also ask that you travel up to 25% of the time.
