This is a Job Description for a Seasonal Research Technician in Winterville, Mississippi

Duties & Responsibilities:

10 saw gin operation (mid-September to mid-February). Hand harvesting of individual plant selections, Boll samples of Yield Trials. Approx.4500 (10-12 days one week in late September and one in mid to late October). Machine harvest of Cotton Yield trials and seed increases: Bag Picker operation assistance, Yield Trial weigh picker operation and operation assistance, Module builder operation (10-12 days in October). Packaging cotton seed into de-linting bags, de-linting cotton Seed, Treating Cotton Seed, (February, maybe longer). Ability to learn or be already proficient in crossing and cotton/soybean growth stages/agronomy/integrated pest management.

: Diploma in Agriculture or bachelor's degree in agriculture is an asset. Hand harvesting of individual plant selections, Boll samples of Yield Trials. Approx.4500 (10-12 days one week in late September and one in mid to late October). Experience operating small plot research equipment such as tractors, seeders, sprayers and combines is an asset. Willing to work in the field and capable of learning and executing responsibilities in the Greenhouse, as required. Willing to work extended hours during the busy season. Valid driver's license required
