The community you’ll be caring for: AdventHealth Winter Park

  • Winter Park Memorial Hospital has continuously served the residents of Winter Park and its surrounding communities for more than 50 years

  • Chartered in 1951, the hospital has grown from the visionary efforts of a handful of Winter Park residents and community leaders, to a 307-bed acute care facility that is a model of community health and wellness

  • Over the years the hospital has continually expanded to meet the needs of the community, adding an upscale obstetrics and Level II Neonatal Intensive Care Unit at The Dr. P. Phillips Baby Place, cancer care at the AdventHealth Cancer Institute, Winter Park, and state-of-the-art surgery, recovery and rehabilitation at the AdventHealth Orthopedic Institute

The role you’ll contribute:

The RIO Tech II works under the direct supervision of the Professional Nurse, assisting in performing specific duties to provide quality patient care. Adheres to the Florida Hospital Corporate Compliance Plan and to all rules and regulations of all applicable local, state and federal agencies and accrediting bodies. Actively participates in outstanding customer service and accepts responsibility in maintaining relationships that are equally respectful to all.

The value you’ll bring to the team:

  • Intakes pre-op patients. Properly identifies patients and applies ID and allergy bands.

  • Obtains vital signs, height, weight, and allergy list. Assists patient to assigned bed.

  • Orients patient to assigned bed area.

  • Assists in the preparation of charts and makes rounds on nursing units to obtain empty charts.

  • Assists HUC with clerical functions as requested.

  • Transports patients to and from other departments and to discharge area.

  • Assist with answering call lights, answering telephone calls, and keeps supplies stocked as needed.

Qualifications

The expertise and experiences you’ll need to succeed:

  • BLS

The expertise and experiences preferred:

  • Bilingual Preferred

  • Hospital Experience Required

  • Medical Experience

  • Patient Care Tech Experience
