Qualifications
Education: 2 Year / Associate Degree, required. 4 Year / Bachelors Degree, preferred - BSN.
Experience: 1 year Cardiovascular surgical and/or OR experience, preferred.
Licensure/Certification: Current RN licensure in appropriate state, required. BLS, required.
Additional Skills (required):
Highly trained to perform open-heart surgical procedures.
Highly specialized in cardiovascular procedures and acuity, instrumentation, and breath of knowledge.
Ability to manage the increase workload that may be experienced in the CVOR.
Ability to take high volume of on call for cardiovascular cases.
Ability to handle difficult situations and effectively perform under the highest levels of stress.
Ability to accommodate varying schedules.
Ability to effectively work with and manipulate equipment such as tandem heart, balloon pump, cardiopulmonary bypass/heart-lung machines, and perfusion cannulation.
Med-Rad injector skills.
Ability to perform operations of hybrid CV suite, equipment and bed.
Additional Skills (preferred): Critical Thinking Skills.
