MISSION/SUMMARY:

The Finishing department is an integral part of the production process. Individuals must understand and align business operations as they execute their role to exceed customer expectations and align with GPI business, cultural, financial, and operational objectives.

JOB FUNCTIONS: (include, but are not limited to the following):

  • Perform manual labor duties in a fast-paced manufacturing environment while working under tight production deadlines.

  • Responsible for palletizing product, wrapping, strapping, and labeling loads.

  • Responsible for ensuring all required quality checks are performed following SOP's.

  • Responsible for maintaining cleanliness of work area (removing stray cartons, sweeping, etc.).

  • Safely perform all tasks on and around moving machinery/equipment.

  • Follow all company policies and procedures.

  • Must follow all GPI safe work practices.

  • Other duties as required and assigned.

SKILLS/EXPERIENCE:

  • Prior exposure to manufacturing strongly preferred.

  • Must be able to read/interpret/complete information sheets/forms.

  • Mechanical aptitude and ability to use hand/power tools preferred.

  • Excellent dexterity, hand-eye coordination required.

  • Excellent communicator (speaking/writing/listening/reading).

  • Basic computer skills.

  • Basic math skills required - addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

  • Standing for extended periods of time (8-12 hours).

  • Awkward and/or repetitive movements, including pushing/pulling, bending, twisting, above shoulder lifting.

  • Routine lifting and occasional heavy lifting (up to 40 lbs.).

  • Noisy environment with fluctuating temperatures.

SCHEDULE DEMANDS:

  • Successful candidates must be willing and able to work all shifts, including but not limited to days, afternoons, evenings, 12-hour shifts, rotating shifts, weekends, and statutory holidays as per the Collective Bargaining Agreement, without exception, in a 24/7 manufacturing environment. Candidates unable to work any these shifts will not be considered for the job.
