Payroll & HR Administrator

Description

Responsibilities:

  • Will serve as the first point of contact for the Windsor union employees for all issues and grievances related to payroll, attendance, lay-off, OT, and other related topics

  • Answer and problem solve employees’ queries about HR-related issues

  • Will own the payroll, timekeeping, attendance, and some disciplinary investigations and actions for bargain employees

  • Manage payroll by providing relevant employee information, resolving issues, making system updates, and processing payroll

  • Daily interaction with supervisors and/or union representatives involving topics such as payroll, timekeeping, attendance, disciplinary actions, etc.

  • Works council in operational daily business

  • Responsible for managing Internship programs

  • Will support the HR Manager in addressing issues related to compensation, health and welfare benefits programs, etc.

  • Update internal databases and employment statuses including all employee data information in Peoplesoft, Resources for You and Kronos

  • Organize and maintain personnel records

  • Responsible for training including entry into the HR system, tracking of training, etc.

  • Support audits (HR and IATF) by ensuring relevant information is updated and meets requirements

  • Prepare HR documents such as employment contracts and new hire guides, onboarding and others

  • Use Kautex internal system for contract payments

  • Support the revision of site-specific company policies by providing input and gathering input from business leaders

  • Liaise with partners, such as other HR team members, legal, vendors, site department leadership, etc.

  • Create regular reports and presentations on HR metrics (e.g. KPI, attrition, absenteeism, diversity)

  • Participate in HR projects and initiatives such as Wellness, recognition events, engagement etc.

  • Collaboration in project-orientated tasks

  • Improve HR processes and efficiencies

  • Own Overtime Equalization process

  • Other Duties that may arise within the department

Qualifications

Experience:

  • University degree (MBA, BWL or comparable) with HR focus

  • Experience with Kronos and PeopleSoft

  • Knowledge of applicable employment laws and government regulations

  • Good knowledge of MS Office with an emphasis on Excel

  • English business fluent

  • Unionized Manufacturing Experience

  • Automotive manufacturing experience is strongly preferred
