Description: A Principal Engineer job is currently available at Belcan in Windsor, CT. This is a full-time direct job with benefits. To be considered, you will need at least a Bachelors Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or similar and 15+ years of experience.

You will be the Mechanical Fuel Systems SME (Subject Matter Expert) of an engineering team working new development of aerospace products. In the SME role you will be expected to attend design reviews as the engineering focal for design projects related to precision matched pneumatic valves and complex fuel control housings. In the design reviews you will evaluate designs to ensure technical accuracy, feasibility, and alignment with industry standards. You will contriubute expertise than enhances the overall quality and effectiveness of the design offering valuable perspectives to optimize functionality and address potential issues. The Belcan team you will be a part of will perform many engineering tasks including mechanical fuel systems and dynamic controls analysis, project engineering and EV analysis, mehcniacl design or precision matched pneumatic valves and complex fuel control housings, structural analysis, electromechanical interface design, product definition, and producibility manufacturing engineers.

In this role, you will also mentor new and existing team members ensuring compliance to customer and industry standards and review all deliverables prior to customer release.

Job Duties:

  • Attend customer design reviews as the team subject matter expert

  • Mentor new and existing team members

  • Review customer deliverables such as detailed tolerance studies, layout designs, and drawings prior to submittal

  • Complete deliverables as required to maintain required schedule requirements

  • Work with external customer to ensure complete understanding of requirements, schedule, and deliverables

  • Drive the successful execution of projects and report results to Belcan and customer leadership

  • Apply standard engineering techniques, procedures, and criteria to complete assigned tasks

  • Assist with the management of team member workloads

  • Identify problem areas and create action plans

Required:

  • At least a Bachelor"s degree in Mechanical or Aerospace engineering

  • Minimum of 15 years of relevant experience,

  • Able to function as a Mechanical Fuel Systems SME for precison matched pneumatic valves and complex fuel control housing products.

  • Proficiency with NX and TeamCenter

  • Outstanding leadership and interpersonal skills

  • Demonstrated ability to meet or exceed technical and program goals on multiple projects

  • High level of proficiency with Microsoft Office tools such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.

  • Active secret clearance or ability to obtain secret clearance

  • Due to the nature of the work U.S. Citizenship is required

Preferred:

  • Previous aerospace experience strongly preferred

  • Masters degree or PhD in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering

  • At least 5 years of leadership or mentorship experience

We provide a competitive pay and benefits package. This position is offering a salary range of $120,000 to $165,000. Belcan considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to education, experience, geographic location, and discipline.
