Aerotek General Production Worker in Windsor, Connecticut

Our facility in Windsor, CT has hiring needs for coating and slitting operators.

· Schedule: 6pm-6am Monday-Thursday

· Pay Rate: $22.00 - $26.00

Job Description

The facility is an industry leading manufacturer in specialty material. The Windsor location is considered the coating center of America. They manufacture jumbo rolls of materials that are used in command strips, and band Aids. Currently, they're working on an adhesive that goes on the Ferraris's top paint coat for protection. They are situated in over 30 locations throughout the U.S. under different naming conventions. The Windsor location is expecting a lot of growth and looking to double in size by the end of the year, so the stability and growth potential is substantial. They have two departments; one is coating and one is slitting.

Please review the job duties for Coating and Slitting below:

COATING OPERATOR: Openings 6pm-6am shift (training is 5:45am-6:00pm) $23 hour and 10% differential - You'll work in a team of two-three to load jumbo rolls onto the coating machine. Tasks include unwinding and adjusting machine components for the specific product -You'll work off of work orders from the supervisor and complete tasks such as labeling and packaging -The coating department is loud and fast paced the majority of the time. The machine set up process can take a few hours, but once the machine is running, you'll monitor and make adjustments as needed, so strong mechanical aptitude is a must

SLITTING OPERATOR : Openings (5:45 pm-4:30 am) Training is (5:45 am-4:30 pm) $22 hr, 10% differential - As a Slitting Operator, you'll work in a team of two and sometimes independently operating slitting machines. Tasks include set up, run, package boxes, and inspection of material - Once the machine is set up, there are moments where the job seems slow, so must be comfortable working in a slower work environment, but also take initiative to help out in other areas

Must Haves:

· Culture is huge so candidate must have a good attitude, show up everyday, and be comfortable working in a fast paced environment for coating.

· For slitting, must be comfortable with slow periods throughout the day

· Ideal candidate would have at least 6 months of operating experience (Extrusion operators typically do well in this environment, specifically candidates from Nuway Tobacco)

· If candidate doesn't have previous operating experience then mechanical skills are a must

· Must have basic mathematical skills

· Must be comfortable standing for long periods of times

· Must be able to lift up to 50lbs

· Must have strong attention to detail

· Must have SD (static Dissipative ) safety shoes, especially in our coating dept.

· This shoes are design to minimize the amount of static electricity build up on out body which is important because the coating is solvent based
