Electrical Engineer (Windsor, CT)

The Sustaining Electrical Engineer is responsible for supporting production and test in a hands-on environment. They will be able to conceptualize solutions to technical problems, work independently to generate the necessary drawings and design documents, and communicate technical issues effectively with all levels of management. This is a hybrid position with options to work remotely on certain days. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:(Additional duties may be assigned)

  • Interpret electrical schematics and harness prints.

  • Support purchasing by identifying alternative electromechanical sources for devices such as contactors, relays, switches, circuit breakers, transformers, and power supplies.

  • Maintain electrical documentation, including schematics, wiring diagrams, wiring harnesses, cable assemblies, and electrical cabinet bills of materials.

  • Ensure that work orders for harness updates in house are being processed.

  • Support production and testing team at the factory; being away from your desk troubleshooting machines for various periods of time.

  • Occasionally provide written work instructions for component installation.

  • Other assignments as designated by immediate and/or higher supervisor/s.

    OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Maintain professional currency with respect to technical skills by attending training classes, special technical and other sessions; seminars, exhibits and trade shows as needed.

Salary:$75,000 - $85,000 QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.   • AS in Electrical Engineering; or equivalent technical certification with 2+ years’ experience.

  • Experience using Multimeters, Picometers, Oscilloscopes and other hand tools.

  • Understanding of mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic diagrams.

  • Experience with industrial type equipment and their control systems preferred.

  • Understanding of schematic layout, wire sizing, and control cabinet layouts.

  • AC motors control experience, both electromechanical and VFD type controls.

  • Automotive type wiring harness design, and layout experience is a plus.

  • Ability to utilize Microsoft Office to generate concise work instructions.

  • Experience with SEE Electrical is a plus, but not required; training available for selected candidate.

  • Working familiarity of Solidworks is also a plus.
