Description: A Checker job is currently available at Belcan in the Windsor, CT area. This is a full time, direct position with full benefits. Great matching candidates will have the ability to own Product Definition responsibility from conceptual design through to production, working independently and within a multidisciplinary team. You will be signing off on engineering drawings, reviewing engineering packages, performing tolerance studies, and reviewing the work completed by team members with the customer's standards and expectations in mind.
Responsibilities:
Work closely with Product Definition team members and consult with Design discipline personnel during execution phase.
Generation of drawing packages.
Preparation of drawing presentation material.
Mechanical design layout creation.
Periodically participate in design reviews.
Processing Engineering Changes.
Interfaces closely with Project Managers and Engineers in responding to requests for quotation.
Develops Product Definition estimates and milestone schedules.
Review conceptual or final mechanical design layout definition of components using 3D modeling and ensure customer requirements of Fit, Form, and Function are met.
Update models from conceptual design that adhere to customer specifications and modeling standards.
Conceptualize assembly sequences and analyze fits and clearances by completing tolerance studies.
Qualifications:
Associate Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Drafting/Design or similar
8+ years of experience in product definition and design; ideally in the aerospace industry
Experience with NX and other engineering computer programs such as Teamcenter
Work with Design Engineering to perform very high-level tolerance studies in advance of detail drawing creation.
Full understanding of GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing) and ASME Y14.5 drawing standards.
Full understanding and knowledge of tolerance stack studies.
Due to the nature of the job, US Citizenship is required.
Due to the nature of the job, on-site presence is required.
Active Secret Clearance or ability and willingness to get clearance required.
Desired Qualifications:
- Familiarity with precision matched pneumatic valves and complex fuel control housing products.
Compensation:
We provide a competitive pay and benefits package. This position is offering a salary of $74,880 to $118,560 however Belcan considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to education, experience, geographic location, and discipline. Benefits offered may include health care, dental, vision, life insurance; 401(k); education assistance; paid time off including PTO, holidays, and any other paid leave required by law.'
