8th Avenue Food & Provisions is a growing organization made up of businesses that produce and sell quality products including pasta, peanut butter, granola, and fruit and nut trail mixes to retail, foodservice and ingredient customers. The company was formed in October 2018 through a combination of Post Holdings’ private brands businesses and is owned by Post Holdings and funds affiliated with Thomas H. Lee Partners, L.P. (“THL”), a private equity firm. Responsibilities JOB SUMMARY: Key member of a skilled maintenance team responsible for operating efficiencies of a 24/7 food manufacturer. MAJOR DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES: Troubleshoot, adjust, and repair packaging equipment, production equipment, flour-conveying systems, work in-process equipment and warehouse equipment. Assist in set up and /or modification of equipment for changeovers from different items. Perform electrical preventative maintenance inspections and preventative maintenance on all equipment per checklists and /or manufactures’ procedures. Document all work accomplished utilizing shift turnover forms, checklists, and logbooks. Following quality control standards, safety regulations, standard operating procedures, good manufacturing practices and good sanitation practices. Detect faulty operations and defective materials and refer questionable situations to Coordinators. Maintain the work and shop areas, tools, and equipment in a clean and proper manner. Troubleshoot and repair all electrical control panels using volt/ohm meter. Troubleshoot AC and DC motors and motor controllers using a volt/ohm meter and amp probe. Construct and modify production, packaging and warehouse electrical equipment from verbal instruction or blueprints. Repair electronic controls to the component level Troubleshoot, write, and modify programs to PLCs. Troubleshoot, adjust, and repair code dater and Smart Touch equipment. Troubleshoot and repair press vacuum systems. Perform water testing and analysis per manufacturer specifications. Work with all Managers, Coordinators, and Operators to repair maintenance concerns in a timely manner. Train other technicians and employees. All other duties assigned by a Coordinator or a Manager. PRODUCT QUALITY & FOOD SAFETY RESPONSIBILITIES: As an employee of 8th Avenue Food & Provisions you share the responsibility for producing a food product that meets established specifications of the highest quality and is safe and wholesome. It is every 8th Avenue Food & Provisions employee’s responsibility to immediately report any incident or situation that may compromises any of the above factors or issues to their immediate Supervisor and if unavailable to the Quality Assurance Technicians and/or a manager at the plant. MINIMUM KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES/EXPERIENCE/EDUCATION REQUIRED TO SUCCESSFULLY PERFORM MAJOR DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES Ability to repair and adjust all packaging lines and supporting equipment. Ability to repair and adjust all production lines and supporting equipment. Ability to repair and adjust all warehouse palletizers and conveying equipment. Ability to read schematics and blueprints. Ability to troubleshoot and repair electrical equipment, either PLC or relay logic, with volt/ohm meter Working knowledge of all closed loop chilled water systems Must be able to use electronic test equipment properly and understand resulting readings. Must have a working knowledge of digital and analog circuitry and be able to read schematic drawings. Must be able to use small equipment, drills, grinders, etc., safely, and correctly. Must have working knowledge of boiler equipment including water pumps, water mixing valves and controls. Must be able to understand English both verbal and written. Ability to complete projects as assigned by the Plant Engineer, Maintenance Coordinator and/or Maintenance Lead Technician. MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS: Education: High School diploma or equivalent GED Experience: Training/certification and/or background experience in industrial maintenance function. Licensed to operate all types of forklifts and material handling equipment.
