Insight Global Civil Engineer in Winchester, Virginia

Job Description

Our client is looking for a Staff or Project Engineer in the Winchester, VA office to perform various activities related to environmental consulting. You should be motivated, eager to learn, embrace teamwork, and have the desire to develop professionally. Project responsibility will have a primary focus on civil and environmental engineering services, landfills and landfill infrastructure, waste transfer stations, materials recovery facilities, solar, and other projects which require design, engineering, permitting, construction and operations support.

 Prepares and reviews engineering calculations, drawings, reports, and permit applications.

 Manage projects and personnel to meet both client and SCS expectations

 Makes decisions independently on engineering or scientific problems and methods, plans and coordinates work, and represent at meetings and conferences.

 Field work in varied terrain and weather will be required, including but not limited to, surveys/data gathering, construction quality assurance, inspections, etc.

 Office-based tasks including: CAD drafting, mathematical calculations, report writing, site planning and facility design, permit applications, etc.

 Receive technical guidance on unusual or complex problems and supervisory approval on proposed plans or projects.

 Travel (day trips or overnight, 10% of travel expected)

Skills and Requirements

Bachelors degree in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering or Geotechnical Engineering or related engineering major required.

 Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience required.

 E.I.T. required, P.E. preferred

 Competent with using MS Office and other computer software normally used in environmental consulting. Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D design software preferred.

 Valid driver's license with a driving record in good standing required. null
