All workers should be physically able to meet and perform the work outlined in the contract for the entire period of time from 03/15/2025 to 12/31/2025. Workers will seed, transplant, cultivate, cut, house and strip tobacco. May also prepare barns and land, do maintenance of tools and equipment related to job. Worker should be able to bend, stoop and stand on their feet for long periods of time.Burley Tobacco: Duties to include, but not limited to: greenhouse care, setting, topping, oiling, cutting, housing and stripping. Workers will be trained for a period of two days (14 hours) after which the worker will be expected to cut 100 sticks per hour - does not include dropping sticks in field. Dark Fired Tobacco: Duties to include, but not limited to: greenhouse care, setting, topping, oiling, cutting, housing and stripping. Workers will be required to cut wood and carry to barn to fire the tobacco. Wooden slabs covered with sawdust are placed under the tobacco that is hanging in barn. Slabs are fired to smoke the tobacco and is repeated until the tobacco becomes the appropriate color. Worker will remove remaining ashes after the tobacco is fired. Worker is required to cut/spike 50-60 sticks per hour. Air Cured Tobacco: Duties to include, but not limited to: greenhouse care, setting, topping, oiling, cutting, housing and stripping. Other Related Duties for all types of tobacco: Workers may chop weeds between plants with hoe; remove tops and suckers from plants, apply side dressing. The employer will train new workers in seeding, setting cutting, housing and stripping tobacco for a period of two days (14 working hours). Forage: Duties to include, but not limited to: Soil preparation, operating tillage equipment, cutting equipment. Hauling bales to storage barns / farms that purchase hay. Planting, Cultivating, & Harvesting Row Crop: Duties to include, but not limited to: Workers may drive and operate farm machinery to plant, cultivate, harvest and store grain crops such as corn, wheat, soybeans, etc. Attach farm implements such as plow, disc, and drill to tractor and drive tractor in field to till soil and plant / cultivate crop. Perform variety of other duties such as husking and shelling corn, lubricating and repairing farm machinery and unloading grain onto conveyors to storage bins and elevators. Operate or tend equipment used in agricultural production, such as tractors, combines, grain bin cleaning, and irrigation equipment. loading/unloading grain trucks, transfers grain through elevator grain system, clean out grain bins, elevator repair, unloads grain onto conveyors for storage in bins, operate machinery for cleaning of grain, cleaning grain bins, transferring grain from one bin to another clean bin, and maintenance on grain bins. Hauling crop in semi-truck from field locally no CDL needed. Assist in set-up of product for sale of crop.
