Robert Half Staff Accountant in Wilton, Connecticut

Description

We are searching for a meticulous Staff Accountant to join our team in the service industry, located in Wilton, Connecticut. In this role, you will be tasked with preparing monthly accounting journals, reviewing capital expenditures, and assisting with general accounting and month-end activities. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work within a dynamic environment, where you will be expected to maintain and reconcile various accounts and provide information and assistance to auditors as required.

Responsibilities:

• Prepare monthly accounting journals and post them in timely manners into our in-house system

• Prepare the Journal templates with support for approvals in adherence to processes.

• Organize and save all the backups/ support in shared drive for easy access and follow.

• Investigate monthly inter-company accounts Transactions, Post journals, share and save backups to respective counterpart.

• Maintain and reconciles the Prepayment, Accruals, Debtors, Creditors accounts to the trial balance.

• Review capital expenditure monthly, calculating and reconciling the depreciation

• Post payroll, 401K, HSA and bonus accounting Journals.

• Support the Finance Manager with General accounting (chart of accounts, journals, accruals, prepayments, period close and open) and month-end activities.

• Assist/Investigate any System-to-System Reconciliation for team, as requested.

• Provide information and assistance to Internal and External Auditors as and when required.

• Assisting in various Ad Hoc Projects as required

• Prepare and post monthly accounting journals in a timely manner.

• Organize and save all backups/supports in a shared drive for easy access.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree with major in Finance and/or Accounting.

• 3-5 years of professional experience in accounting, reporting and/or auditing with large global corporation or accounting firm.

• Working knowledge of U.S. GAAP (IFRS knowledge is a plus).

• Detail oriented with strong financial analysis skills.

• Strong organizational and stress management skills.

• Strong Excel skills in managing and manipulating large data.

• Adept at building relationships and have strong communication skills, both written and verbal.

• Ability to prioritize and work under a tight schedule.

• Ability to work independently with little to no supervision.

• Highly motivated and great Team Player
