Behavior Intervention Coach-This full time position works under the direction of the School Administration and is responsible for assisting a teacher in providing instruction to individuals or small groups of students with behavior challenges. This position is also responsible for monitoring, redirecting and modifying student progress regarding inappropriate behaviors and performance, administering intensive behavior intervention programs to identified students and performing a variety of clerical duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS-Bachelor's degree in a related field such as Social Work, Employment Counseling, Education or other appropriate degree preferred. Associate's degree or ability to pass the paraprofessional assessment to meet minimum standards. Must have a current valid MI. driver's license. Ability to obtain and hold a certification in non-violent crisis intervention from the Crisis Prevention Institute. Must have documented experience in all areas of essential responsibilities including individual case management, internal and external communications and report preparation; documented experience with activity programs and coordination of services such as Youth Service Programs, etc. Experience with Indian tribes and particularly working with Native American youth preferred. Must have knowledge of social emotional and development needs of K-12 students, juvenile delinquency and its prevention and Native American culturally appropriate approaches and services. Information/training on the strategies used by Stan Davis, Carol Dweck, Randy Sprick, regarding student behavior and classroom management. Must be physically able to actively participate in all K-12 activities that are often physically challenging. Most importantly, this position requires a person who exhibits a high interest in working with at risk youth.
