ENTRUST Solutions Group Sr. Design Engineer in Wilmington, North Carolina

We are looking for an Electrical Design Engineer in the following locations:

  • Fayetteville, NC

  • Wilmington, NC

What You’ll Do:

  • The objective of this role is to be a subject matter expert of distribution design and constructability for the Fayetteville / Wilmington area.

  • You will be responsible for design review and ensuring we deliver a design package that meets client expectations.

  • You will often meet with the client and construction crews to review the scope of our design and discuss project execution.

  • You will be a technical leader on the team contributing to the continual improvement of team knowledge.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from ABET accredited university.

  • 3-5 years of electrical distribution design experience OR 5-7+ years of electrical utility design experience

  • This position involves 20-25% travel within the region which includes driving to project sites.

  • Must have a valid driver's license without restrictions.

  • Client facing support.

  • Design review.

  • Team leadership & mentoring.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of Computer Aided Design is a plus.

  • Strong work ethic with desire to work in a production environment.

Software Requirements

  • Microsoft Office

  • Bluebeam or other PDF editing software

  • BOUD or similar drafting software

  • Poleforeman/OCALC/Spidacalc or pole loading and sag hand calculations

  • SEDS or voltage drop and flicker hand calculations

  • Benefits & Salary: This position pays between $71,000 and $73,000 annually and is an exempt position.

  • Benefits offered include company sponsored medical, dental, vision, and 401(k) plan with company match. Also offered are tuition reimbursement, voluntary life, disability, critical illness, accident and hospitalization plans. HSA or FSA medical accounts and FSA dependent care and transportation/parking accounts are also available. These benefits are subject to employee contribution amounts generally set annually.

  • Full time employees are eligible to earn PTO hours.

  • May be eligible for discretionary bonus as determined by the company.
